Xerox - Going Green In 2009

Hello everyone! First, I would like to wish all of you the best this holiday season.

Because the new year is approaching I've been thinking of what to share with you that could make a difference in 2009. You've probably heard of "Going Green" now for a couple of years like I have, and you may have joined the campaign in your own ways to make a difference your community. I personally don't feel like I've done my fair share and will make a commitment in 2009 to make our small piece of the world more environmentally healthy.

Xerox has been on board with "Going Green" for a while. Watch this video that shares Xerox's commitment to "Going Green" and you will see a glimpse of what we have now and what's coming in the future that can help save the planet. So, lets all make a difference in 2009. Maybe our children and grandchildren will thank us one day for our efforts!

Lunch and Learn - Somewhat Shorthanded

So my first Lunch and Learn was last Thursday and I would have liked to report it was a huge success, but with any start up there are usually some obstacles that hinder your responce. I had a turnout of 2... myself and Art. :)

I don't know if it was bad timing, a bad topic, or a bad all around idea, but I kind of expected a better responce. So I'm going with the first of the "3 bads" and will chalk my efforst up to bad timing. I would like to try again this Thursday the 13th at noon. I've put together a great presentation that I promise won't bore, and might throw in a suprise (gift card to Chili's, etc) for attendance.

Feel free to give me your feedback by clicking on comments below, or shoot me an email if you have an idea to make our time together a success!

Guitars and Cadillacs - Something you may not know about Art Demone

While fellow co-worker Art Demone manages his daily business around the office, he often dreams of one day becoming a rock star. Along with his many talents as a Xerox Office Systems Specialist, he can play a mean guitar and cello. As his rock star dream continues we soon hope to see him start growing out his hair to wear in a pony tail around the office. Ozzfest 2009... HERE HE COMES!!!

In all seriousness, Art is an incredible woodworker. Last year he created a beautiful Monopoly board made of 16 different types of exotic wood. This year his project of choice was building a Carvin Guitar (this is where the rock star dream comes in to play). He has entered his guitar into a contest at http://carvinbbs.com/viewtopic.php?t=11109 and WON out of 100 finalist! Here are a few pictures of the first place guitar. Way to go Art!!!

To Our Customers - "Keep in Touch"

Hello Xerox Customers! Have you ever used the phrase "Keep in Touch"? Well, with that phrase in mind, we at Innovative Business Systems are proud to announce this weblog to our dearest customers as a way to Keep in Touch. As we post to this blog we hope to accomplish a couple of things: to keep in touch with you and hopefully make your experience with us a delightful one for years to come. This site will provide you links to great resources in an effort to simplify finding answers to your Xerox related questions. (See the links area in the top right corner of this page.) In addition, click on the Calendar to view a schedule of events that can benefit your organization.

Over the past years we have had great success in keeping you updated with your current equipment, but ongoing training and demonstrations can sometimes be difficult to accomplish for a couple of reasons:
  • You hire new employees who haven't used our equipment, print drivers, scanning templates, etc.
  • You forget about different features that can benefit you when using our equipment (i.e. Secure Print, Delay Print, Lan Fax)

With new software and scanning capabilities we have found it very beneficial to customers to come in for demonstrations on scanning, equipment, etc. But, we understand you can’t send new employees to our office, and we don’t always have the time and resources to visit you every time you have a question or a new hire. So, we have invested in a new tool called Webex that allows us to do demonstrations and some training online. This also allows us to open up with question and answer time so we can help you with your specific needs. So, once a month we would like to invite you to an online lunch and learn to aid you in several ways.

  • Refresh your knowledge on print drivers.
  • Refresh your knowledge on scanning.
  • Bring new employees up to speed on printing and scanning.
  • Introduce new services and products to your organization.
  • Question & Answer session for you and new employees.

This blog will also serve as our Newsletter to spread information about exciting new products, existing products, and new services.

So, in moving forward with this blog, we ask each of you to keep in touch by reading our blog, using our blog and its resources for your benefit, and joining our lunch and learn sessions. We will host our first lunch and learn on the first Thursday in November, and will continue that schedule of the first Thursday each month.

Thank you and don’t hesitate to comment with ways to improve this blog, or topics you would like us... to Touch on.
